A lovely hotel literally steps from Moncloa metro station. The neighbourhood seemed very safe even late at night. The staff were excellent, very friendly and spoke good English for my friend who is not fluent in Spanish. They were able to answer any of her questions with ease. The rooftop pool is small and not deep, but very cold which was welcome on stifling days. The room was clean and comfortable. My only little niggles were that there were not enough outlets in the room and the “separate”double beds we requested were literally right next to each other. My friend and have have known each other for 20+ years so it wasn’t really an issue but just know this in advance. Also the rooftop bar isn’t open during the day, as an FYI. A great stay and I’d surely return!
Nice rooms and all, but in SUMMER they open the pool only at 11h and close it at 19h (it's very sunny and hot until 21h30) and they won't even let you be in your swimming suit, just relaxing outside of the pool, on the couch or anything. It's a waste of space and super inconvenient to spend your sunny hours not taking advantage of the space. I would definitely look for other hotels during summer in Madrid.
We booked this hotel specifically because of the rooftop terrace they heavily advertise—guess what? It’s only open three months a year. We paid extra for this hotel solely for that reason. To make matters worse, we originally booked a triple room, but due to a change in plans we ended up with four people. We kindly asked to adjust our booking to one double room and book an additional double—something you'd think any hotel would welcome. But nope. The staff were completely unhelpful and dismissive, making everything unnecessarily difficult. Zero effort to accommodate or even communicate properly. We ended up paying way too much for what we got. The room wasn’t worth it, the service was a joke, and honestly, I feel scammed. As for the fitness and wellness facilities—what a joke. The gym is a sad excuse for one, and the so-called “wellness area” is barely functional, hidden away next to a parking lot. It feels more like a neglected basement than a place to relax. Avoid this place at all costs. Looks nice online, but in reality? An overpriced disaster.
