It exceeded my expectations. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. We were traveling with an infant and they provided all the appropriate accommodations. The beds were very comfy, something I haven’t experienced in hotels in a while.

Hotel Exe Plaza – Room 802 I recently spent three nights at Hotel Exe Plaza in Madrid and, while the hotel’s location is excellent, my overall experience left me deeply disappointed. Accessibility & Location The hotel’s location is excellent for my stay. The centre is some distance away. However, getting around is a different story. With only one elevator available, the lift is perpetually blocked and accompanied by long queues, making even the simplest trip between floors feel like a mini expedition. I have also seen disabled people in the hotel for whom the lift is essential. According to the reviews, lift breakdowns have been a daily occurrence for over a month and there is no mention of this on the website or when booking - this is unacceptable. Room & Comfort Room 802 clearly shows the marks of its age. The temperature control is off balance: the room is either too dry -almost desert-like- or, in the dining area, uncomfortably warm as if toasting you upon arrival. There’s no power outlet near the bed, which is a notable inconvenience in today’s digital age. Bathroom & Amenities The bathroom is serviceable but far from perfect. The shower, particularly the handheld option, provides only a meager trickle, and the overhead shower head barely meets expectations. The ventilation in the bathroom is another highlight—if you consider the sound of a jet engine taking off as a highlight—though at least it can be turned off. Additionally, the ceiling displays several gaps that could easily be sealed, and the door frames at the bottom appear swollen and chipped due to what seems to be water damage; these issues were clearly ignored rather than repaired. To add to the list of quirks, the hairdryer’s electrical cover has fallen off, exposing bare wires. For those who enjoy extra company, ants have decided to set up camp in the eighth-floor bathroom. Fitness & Leisure Facilities The fitness center is an exercise in futility. Most of the equipment is out of order: the stepper has no power, the treadmill lacks a display for decline, speed or time, and the multisport machine is completely non-functional. The stationary bike offers inaccurate wattage readings, and the sauna remains closed for maintenance. These issues suggest a long-standing neglect rather than isolated incidents. Service & Overall Impression While the receptionists are courteous and offer apologies for the inconveniences, their words do little to alleviate the persistent problems throughout the hotel. Although the basic room facilities serve their intended purpose and breakfast is acceptable, the overall experience leaves much to be desired. Conclusion If you’re looking for modern comfort and reliability, Hotel Exe Plaza in Madrid is unlikely to meet your expectations. Thankfully, my stay was brief, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel for a comfortable or hassle-free visit to the city. WLAN: ~ 150 Mbit in both directions

Came to Madrid to take an exam and chose this hotel because of it's price, location and practicality. It was anything but practical. Very disappointed that the windows were not sound proof. Was woken by cleanning trucks at 12am and coukd not fall asleep until 3am because of the lack of sound proof windows. I have stayed in 2 star motels in Los Angeles that were sound proof and better trained personnel. The staff at reception greeted me with utmost disrespect and made my check-in unpleasant and uncomfortable after a long trip to Madrid. Lastly out of 3 elevators only 1 worked and you had to plan your day around the elevator since it took one to go from point A to point B approximately 30 minutes because of the elevator's heavy traffic use. Overall very disappointed 😞. The rooms were functional but the beds were not up to par for a 4 star hotel. Again, I have stayed in 2 star motels with better mattresses. The company under which this hotel operates seems to be making profit out of air. Corruption was the first word that came to mind when I began to notice these discrepancies. Not a professional, nor welcoming experience for the price.
