Hotel Exel

This is possibly the best hotel available in Amstetten and it is conveniently located just nearby the city center of the town. Everything ok, but the dated rooms (clean) and the mattresses with springs and split bed, the bathtub instead of a shower box, appear to be outdated and not in line with modern trends. Even the absence of a socket nearby the bed is not very convenient. Said the above, the rooms are roomy and the WiFi works fairly well. The staff was kind and helpful and the breakfast complete with a wide choice. A free parking is available for the guests 50 metres away. Very likely to come back there while in the area, but some minor investments would improve dramatically the customer's experience.

The rooms were very spacious, clean and of relative quality - expected this as a 4 star accommodation in Austria is always up on par. Personell felt distant and uninterested, this was reflected by both - reception and restaurant. Restaurant staff ignored to service me on my only visit over there. The breakfast is good to average - but has by far the nicest staff members. This could be a good choice if the personnel would find their spark again, and wouldn't just judge visitors by what they are wearing (yes I have heard you!)

Online termination of reservation didn’t work, however Hotel has never sent any sort of reminder about upcoming stay until 10pm of the day of arrival… I have been charged for the accommodation which never took place – HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!
