Hotel Finkennest

If you want to have an awe inspiring view right from your bed, go to Finkennest in Schenna. Pick the room with a view on the valley. The view is really awesome, the valley in front, majestic mountains around. The sunsets are really impressive. Another highlight of this hotel is the outside pool. It is made of very high quality materials, and as you swim, yoi see the mountains around you and an old chapel, the view and the feeling is just unforgettable. Breakfast room also offers you to enjoy the valley view and the breakfast itself is delicious and various. Kids enjoy exploring the territory of this hotel, and it feels very safe. The Jacuzzi outside is fun for kids and the family. The indoor kids pool is really nice. Overall, this is the best hotel we have discovered so far in Süd Tirol, which is also affordable.

No fans (or a.c) in the rooms. So we have to keep all windows open. So it's noisy till late night. Some people pay more and choose this hotel so they may get their 40 minutes of workout per day , only to find the lone Multi-gym machine, in the gym , is not working, and i learned it's been that way since a while. No mirror in the gym too, for the very few light dumbbells available.. Kids club activities are ok. The staff there are pretty good !! Food is good. Views are good !! House keeping did a great job. Rooms have a nice big breakfast table for 4. All breakfast can be ordered in the rooms. 3 clean swimming pools.

Outstanding hotel. Best hotel for children I have ever seen. Staff is very tolerant and accepting of all behaviors. I would call this one of the few five star hotels for children. Those who visit have to keep in mind this hotel is 100% kid focused. With that said, horrible service in the restaurant. The head waiter is the worst of all the wait staff. There is a waiter/bartender that is one of the best in Italy and Germany named Matino. One chef is great but we new when he was off because the food quality went down drastically. We had five rooms there for 7 days and the restaurant was to overwhelmed to handle the 10 adults and 3 children. The waiters were overwhelmed because of the horrible job the head waiter does. For example, when we complained about the food quality decreasing the head waiter told us too bad and never told the owner. The head waiter also threw away several drinks that were brought special for a birthday because he wanted us to pay for the drinks he sells. He through away almost $100.00 in special homemade schnapps for a birthday present. I also want to mention the amazing job the small skinny day care lady did. She was top notch and provided great daycare services for the children and the parents. The other lady was barely in shape to carry a bag upstairs and was like a drill sergeant with the kids and parents. Not nearly as good as the other. Also want to mention the great housekeeping staff we had all but one day. And we new the one day they were off. The floors were sticky and the bedding was just put on the bed. The rest of the time the rooms were perfect and even the beds were made into the shape of a heart. It was an ok time. We look to go back to the same place when we find good ones. Last was Turkey for about 15 years 2-3 times per year. Here we will not return to because it is a very low standard 4 star hotel where the owner allows the staff to do whatever they want. If the owner made changes we would consider going back a few times per year. Big changes would have to be made. Especially with over charging guests. Almost every guest checking out we saw had to have their bill adjusted. If you stay here good luck. There are great people but watch out because the bad ones can ruin your trip. I will adjust my rating if we ever go back. I
