Hotel Fontan Reforma Centro Historico

Nice Location and Restaurants. Good food, terrace level restaurant has good views. It's a boutique style hotel. Food was good for breakfast. Location and views are accessible and good. However, Service, amenities, maintenance and cleanliness, were not all that good! They didn't keep the rooms all that clean, found hair in the Dryer! Locker wasn't working for me even after they tried fixing it!

The hotel is comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect for easy access to central CDMX, Roma, and Chapultapec. Unfortunately, the sewer vent just outside the hotel releases a truly horrible smell. We stayed for 9 nights and noticed that the smell varied from day to day. Sometimes it was barely noticeable, but other times its very strong. When its strong, the smell gets into lobby and even into the rooms. The first night the smell in our room was so horrible I couldn't sleep. I loved everything else about this hotel, but sadly when we come back to CDMX we will not stay here. I just can't handle the chance that my room might smell like a sewer.

We stayed as a group of 12, occupying six rooms. While the staff was friendly, we encountered several issues with our accommodations. The drainage problem in our rooms was severe—wastewater and foul odours were backing up through the toilets and shower drains, creating an unsanitary and uncomfortable environment. Despite the hotel's efforts to clean the affected areas, the unpleasant smell persisted, indicating an underlying plumbing issue. This significantly impacted our stay, as we were unable to enjoy a clean and hygienic space. Additionally, we experienced trouble accessing our rooms as the electronic key cards repeatedly failed to work. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and due to these serious inconveniences, we do not recommend this hotel.
