staff at the reception were kind, informative and helpful. the room was beautiful and clean with everything you need. the only negative is that the steam room wasn’t working when we visited and no one let us know prior to us going to the spa.

The hotel is next to a forest with different tracks. It's quiet and calm. The hotel has a pool, Sauna and gym which is nice. They have massage services as well. Breakfast was good. Staff at the buffet were very nice and welcoming. I appreciate their effort. Rooms are very basic and not as I expected from the picture. Beds were comfortable. Sofa bed was not very comfortable. I did notice when we arrived that no-one helped with luggage and not even showed us where we could get a carrier to put our luggage on to bring to the rooms. We had to figure it our ourselves. We had a lot of luggage which we couldn't carry up ourselves. I asked for an iron and first the lady said she would bring it to our room then I was told she would give it to me and I could carrier it upstairs myself. Strange change in service. I had to pick up something from the restaurant and when I came back I found the iron board and iron in a corner somewhere not nicely placed( as if it was thrown there), obviously too much effort for her to leave it behind nicely for me. We wanted to have a desert later that evening at the restaurant and sat on one of the tables outside, we were told to sit on the sofas next to the entrance as the restaurant would close. I said I wanted to order desert, and then we were suddenly allowed to sit at the tables and it seemed the restaurant didn't close. Something I also didnt appreciate was when we wanted to pay the bill, the lady asked how much money we expected to get back?? Usually you should give back the remaining money (change) after the bill is paid and shouldnt ask what we want to receive? She clearly wanted a tip, this is the first time to hear someone something like that. Tips are given but I feel this way is rude. The experience of service was not very nice I have to say. Something I didn't expect from this hotel.

Forsthaus Hotel in Fürth has a lovely setting nestled in the woods, which provides a peaceful escape from city noise. Being surrounded by nature is certainly a highlight, making for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. However, in my opinion, the hotel’s best years are behind it. Although it continues to be expanded, it no longer meets the standards I would expect for a modern, accessible stay. As a wheelchair user, I found navigating the hotel to be quite inconvenient. Reaching my room required taking two different elevators and covering a considerable distance through corridors, which felt like more of a hassle than it should. For anyone with mobility concerns, this layout may be frustrating, especially with luggage. The breakfast offerings, too, seemed to have lost some of their former appeal. While acceptable for a short stay of one or two nights, the quality and variety didn’t match what I had previously experienced at Forsthaus. There are likely more interesting alternatives in the nearby area that offer better value. Another thing to consider is that the early spring weather adds a slight chill to the experience, especially being in a forested area. This might be less of an issue in warmer months, when the natural setting can be better enjoyed. Overall, while Forsthaus offers a charming location, it might not be the best choice for longer stays or for those requiring easier accessibility. I would recommend it for a brief stay if you’re primarily looking for a quiet spot, but with some good alternatives nearby, you might find a better fit elsewhere.
