We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Lyon. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegant and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and spotlessly clean – a true haven after a day of exploring the city. The location couldn’t be better: right in the heart of Lyon, with easy access to all the major sights, restaurants, and shops. Yet, it still felt peaceful and relaxing. What truly made our stay exceptional was the warm hospitality of the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming – it made us feel right at home. A special highlight was the breakfast on the stunning terrace. Enjoying delicious food in such a beautiful setting was the perfect way to start each day. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lyon – it exceeded all our expectations!
The team at Fort St. Laurent were a huge part of what made our stay so special. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel genuinely welcome—warm, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. They struck the perfect balance: always helpful, never intrusive, and full of brilliant local tips that made our trip feel truly authentic. And the setting? Incredible. Tucked inside a beautifully restored old fort high above Lyon, it felt like a secret escape with panoramic views and loads of character. Between the people and the place, it was unforgettable—like being looked after by friends in one of the most unique spots we’ve ever stayed.
Definitely not a 4*. If you arrive by the car please be vigilant as the access is restricted and satnav brings you to the point where you basically stuck in front of the wall of the hotel. Asking the direction from a reception was not a helpful idea as they basically give you the satnav address and no other help. So I ended up carrying two heavy suitcases along the stairs to reach the hotel reception. No help with the luggage was offered once I entered the hotel. Although I have arrive with two children. There is no restaurant in the hotel - the one indicated on the website drinks and snacks only. So investigate the area beforehand to find a spot to eat. Rooms are clear and relatively new. Parking is outside the hotel, easily accessible inside but definitely not 300m away as it is stated on the website. 300m by foot, but to park the car you need to take 2km rerouting.
