Hotel Freund

A great family hotel with a lot of many different activities for children. A huge gamesroom and inside/outside swimming pools are available and the hotel is attached to a stables so there is the opportunity for children to go riding. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If you are coming here to use the spa facilities you might be disappointed. There are a lot of areas and rooms for relaxing on lounge chairs but few luke warm saunas and the steam room was cold. The restaurant food was delicious and there was a good deal of choice. The bar also has a range of drinks. Our room was quiet, brightly decorated and had a great view out into the open field. It was quite difficult to access though. The hotel in general is a maze so really not recommended for people that have difficulties walking.

The saunas are really nice. But THE CLEANING IS A JOKE. Neither the bathroom nor the floor were never cleaned during our one week stay. We had coffee and wine cups in the room and they never replaced them for fresh ones even after we specifically asked at the reception. If the hotel thinks it is enough to just replace the towels for guests who stay for longer - you are wrong.

Hotel Freude was okay but left me questioning the overall value for money. On the positive side, the hotel had a lovely pool area, perfect for enjoying the sun and the breakfast buffet offered a wide range of options, ensuring a satisfying start to the day. The bar also had a diverse drink menu at reasonable prices, and free parking was a convenient perk. However, the outdated rooms lacking air-conditioning were a letdown, especially during warm nights. The absence of quality toiletries was noticeable, as a single soap for hands, hair, and face fell short of expectations for a spa resort. Additionally, the expensive dinner buffet at €49 per person did not match the overall experience.
