Hotel Freye

Excellent hotel in the centre of Rheine. We stopped here by chance returning to the UK from Denmark... it is less than 3 hours to Hoek van Holland. The manager (owner?) was very helpful and really friendly. We ate our evening meal at the hotel... again, excellent. The breakfast next day was amazing... the best we'd had after 24 days travelling in Germany and Scandinavia. Rheine is a lovely small town with lots going on. I think we'll come back again and stay for a few days.

Excellent hotel and amazing Breakfast. Lovely small town close to Dutch border. Made conveniently direct booking from their web and on arrival everything was ready. Stayed only for 1 night but had very good sleep and breakfast was excellent. So big choice and all fresh food. And service fast and pleasant. Really enjoyed it. You can buy breakfast also without staying at the hotel.

Very central hotel with modern rooms. The hotel is located close to the train station, the ems river, some nice restaurants, etc. The room was spacious, had a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. Room 20 on the 2nd floor has it’s own balcony which is nice, but the amount of stairs to get to the room might not be positive if you’re not very mobile. There was no hot water in our room, so we took cold showers, but with the current temperatures that wasnt a big problem. The breakfast was elaborate and tasty, and the corona rules were followed well.
