Hotel Ginori Al Duomo truly made our stay in Florence a delight! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were incredibly welcoming and efficient. Check-in was a breeze, and they were always on hand with helpful advice and a friendly smile throughout our stay. We had initially booked a room that, while lovely, didn't quite suit our needs. The reception team handled our request for a room change with such grace and efficiency. They were understanding and quickly found us a new room that was absolutely perfect. This seamless accommodation truly showcased their commitment to guest satisfaction. A highlight of our mornings was undoubtedly the breakfast buffet. The quality and variety of the offerings were outstanding. From fresh pastries and fruits to a selection of savory items, there was something to please every palate. The staff managing the buffet were also exceptional – attentive, friendly, and ensuring everything was constantly replenished and beautifully presented. They created a truly pleasant start to each day. The combination of the fantastic reception team, the smooth handling of our room change, and the high-quality breakfast buffet makes Hotel Ginori Al Duomo a top choice for anyone visiting Florence. We highly recommend it and would certainly stay here again on our next trip!
Great hotel the staff was amazing and friendly. The breakfast was in the restaurant next door and most days it was good but one day the scrambled eggs were cold like they were cooked the day before and refrigerated. The pool was small and the pool area was small but good to cool off and good for kids to play. There were a few guests that weren't happy to have kids in the pool but that was their problem. We had 2 rooms both were clean and cleaned every day but one was noticeably bigger not sure what the difference was but I would recommend this hotel.
Shameful and dishonest – they cancelled our fully paid reservation upon arrival We had a fully paid reservation at this hotel, and when we arrived with our children, they told us with shocking cynicism, “Sorry, there are no rooms for you.” No explanation, no warning, just a cold smile and three terrible options: 1. Be moved to a hotel with much lower ratings (7), 2. Another slightly better one with a rating of 8 but still below what we paid for, 3. Or, simply get a refund and be left to find a hotel last minute in a packed city — exhausted and with children. They clearly take advantage of the fact that tourists are tired, overwhelmed, and have no time to fight back. We had no choice but to accept being downgraded. And the worst part? After reading other reviews, I now realize this is not an isolated incident — it’s a recurring and deliberate practice. Avoid this hotel at all costs. It is untrustworthy, disorganized, and disrespectful. They ruin your plans and pretend it’s normal. We were left disappointed, frustrated, and feeling scammed. UPDATED: In response to the manager’s reply: I’m not angry about overbooking itself — but at how it was handled. I was never informed in advance, and I have photos proving the replacement hotel was clearly of lower quality. Other guests have experienced the same. Accusing me of being defamatory is simply a way to avoid accountability. Travelers deserve transparency.
