Very nice experience. The room was spacious and had a balcony which opened directly to a view of canal. The staff was also very nice. There are two hotels one is Gogol house and another is Gogol hotel. We stayed at Hotel Gogol. The breakfast spread was huge and very tasty. Only negative point was that the breakfast menu was same everyday. The bathroom has a huge bath tub and best overall facilities for the price you pay.
Very nice 4* hotel. The staff was frienly, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel has very good location. Breakfast is good and have several options. Coffee could be better, but not bad. There are several good restaurants around the hotel.
One of those rare times when you can’t even review the hotel itself because the customer service at the booking stage was already enough to put me off. The level of service was shockingly poor. In response to my enquiry, the receptionist replied (in Russian) with a dismissive “там же всё написано” — “it’s all written there (referring to the website)”. Needless to say, I won’t be making a booking. For the sake of future guests, I can only hope the accommodation is better than the attitude.
