Hotel Golte

We spent two nights in the hotel as a family of four (and a dog). Due to some not too flattering reviews concerning the location (and driving to the hotel), food and staff, I was a bit apprehensive prior to our arrival, but there was absolutely nothing to worry about because the hotel and the service were amazing. Location - the hotel is wonderfully situated among the trees at the top of the mountain. The view is gorgeous, the nature is beautiful. We decided to drive to the hotel (instead of using the cable car) and it turned out to be less of a problem than we thought - yes, the road is narrow and there are a lot of bends, but it is paved and well maintained throughout. Our suggestion, instead of typing the hotel address into the GPS, is to drive to the restaurant Vid and then follow the road on the right which leads you to the hotel without any problems. Food - we had buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel, both were more than satisfactory. There are plenty of savoury and sweet options for breakfast (eggs in different ways, sausages, cold cuts, cereals, sweet and savoury spreads, fruit, juices and quite tasty coffee) and for dinner, two types of soup, meat, vegetables, cold cuts, desserts and fruit. The food is tasty and seasoned well. Rooms - our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and a balcony. It met all of our needs. We could have used a mini fridge, although, since this is a ski resort, we understand why there wasn't one. Staff - everyone was kind and very helpful. Yes, at times it seemed as if the hotel was a bit understaffed (especially during dinner), but we didn't perceive it as a big issue and didn't have to wait longer than a few minutes for them to collect plates and bring us drinks. Overall, we loved our stay in hotel Montis. It is a lovely hotel with a nice, relaxing atmosphere, surrounded with gorgeous nature and views to kill for. We definitely think it has great value for money and would stay there again (hopefully, we will :)).

Similar as one of the recent reviews - I was a bit afraid when coming there due to various bad reviews regarding cleanliness, food, service…I am very glad we took the “risk” as everything was great - the room was clean (and I have high standars), it had a small fridge (which can be filled with drinks upon request), the food was good and various, staff is very nice and ready to help. Wellness is also nice - closed showers to use after sauna would be good to have though. Massage was also very good. The nature and surrounding is stunning, as is the view from the hotel. All in all, we are definitely coming back!

We were here for the day to do summer activities and ate lunch at the Medvedjak restaurant. There was service at the bar with a small menu. We asked for the soup and schnitzel. The server ran to find bread for us and then said the schnitzel will take 20 minutes because the cook is eating lunch. When he brings the food, it’s not schnitzel but he tells us the cook made chicken pieces and potatoes. So we accepted that. Things seemed very confused overall, as if it is their first day open.
