Hotel Gran Palace

Very good hotel in an excellent location, on a pedestrianized street and only 15 min walk to Plaza de Armas. The rooms are a little dated but there seems to be a lot of upgrading ongoing throughout the hotel. Breakfast is plentiful with a large selection of food. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. I will be forever grateful to Carolina Boza, who took me under her wing and organized with the hotel manager, Pablo Novoa, to allow me stay in the hotel, feed me and gave me a stiff whiskey, even though I was unable to pay for my reservation after my Credit & Revolut cards were skimmed by a taxi from Santiago Airport. This happened because the transfer I had booked and paid for through Bookings.Com abandoned me at the airport because my flight was delayed. Thank you so much Carolina.

I will make it toast style. This hotel barely pulls 2.5 stars in my opinion. Room are very old, the equipment is very old, and the water pressure is very low in the shower. Be careful not to fall thru the hallway it is covered with some wood board and carpet on top. No spa, no sauna, no pool, no gym, no business center, no complimentary tea or coffee or even water. But breakfast is one of the best . They serve good quality and well made breakfast. Perhaps the only better breakfast I have had was in Istanbul but that was 5*. Great service personnel. Check out their hangers . You cannot take them out . You will need to adjust yourself to it ha ha 😅

The one and only one good thing about the hotel is location. All other is quite disappointing. Room really needs renovation, WiFi slow or doesn’t work. Also we couldn’t pay by credit card, so hat to go exchange some cash.
