the Artmore has a PERFECT location to Center Stage. A 3 minute walk is HARD to beat! Check-in and check-out were very smooth and the courtyard was so relaxing. The parking garage is small (I drive a compact and it fit perfectly) and hard to find (located on the side of the building through a roll garage that's a bit hard to see) but the front desk directed me perfectly when I called and asked. The rooms are definitely renovated in the last 10-15 years from a hotel from years past, the floor tile was loose, the bathroom ceiling was about to peel, the bathroom doorknob was loose to name a few, but nothing that imped my stay. Our bed was comfortable, room was clean, we had a view of the mural in the alleyway, and the pillows are some of the most comfortable! Lots of good restaurants in walking distance and a Whole Foods around the corner.

Check-in was a horror. Woman was so rude that it prompted me to tell her that she had a bad attitude. When people are travelling be a little more patient with them as they are discombobulated from driving/flying or whatever else it is they have been doing. Every other employee I encountered at the hotel was exceptionally nice, kind, and helpful. The hotel really does need to step up its' game a bit in terms of services offered. Do not make customers pay for water for example. Have real sugar at the coffee stand. Maybe offer a piece of fruit or something. It's a cheap hotel that feels even more cheap. They also charged me for parking when on the print out from Expedia it clearly stated free long-term parking. The rooms and hallways also desperately need new flooring. I didn't dare take my shoes off the entire time I was in the room as the carpet felt really old and dirty. The toilet ran the entire time I was in the room from some sort of leak. It is in a good location which is about the only thing it has going for it. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to stay in a nicer hotel.

Parking is super expensive and unclear. Valet parked our car on Sunday and checkout is Monday. Looked for valet on checkout Monday morning and was informed that they didn't do valet parking during the week. So had to go find out where he put my car so that was a nice adventure. Front desk lady knew this but neglected to let us know upon checkout. Now that I think about it none of the front staff seemed to go out of their way to give additional information. My room needed severe renovations and a deep clean. There were stains on furniture, walls and carpet, peeling wall paint and leather furniture, broken bathroom door handle, hair in drain and on shower walls. Place smelled like weed. Not that I care about people smoking but get better sealed windows or something so you don't have to smell your neighbors. Only plus is location isn't bad. I'd recommend spending a little more and not staying here. Which is a shame because it's has so much potential to be a really neat hotel.
