A really nice hotel with beautiful features. Nice food. We also ate at the hotel one evening and the waiter complained when we asked for salt and pepper and also when we requested for some dipping for our fries. Thats not a big request, but maybe he had a bad day. Otherwise everything else was in perfect order!
My husband and I wend there for a romantic weekend. Although I can not say anything bad about the hotel, I would not recommend it as a couple-super-relaxing spot. Room: The sweet had a bath tab, but no shower cabin. The room interior was average, flooring and sofas (although clean) looked pretty old. Hotel: The hotel is placed several meters away from a busy road, but it doesn't get too loud. The wooden structures inside add to the feeling of calmness. Sauna offers 2 sauna cabins, and one place to wash your feet, a shower. The massage we ordered was nice. The personnel was most friendly. The accessibility to other places in Blankenburg is possible on foot. Breakfast: average. The choice of food like I know it in a 3-Star-hotel. At times it gets busy and loud. We did not try dinner there.
I'm genuinely puzzled by the positive reviews for this hotel, which led me to booking. This has been one of the worst hotel experiences in recent memory. The photos in the listing look very nice, but they don't represent at all what the actual hotel is like. The place in general is quite run down. The rooms are large but dingy, and there is no lobby to hang out in, so there's nowhere pleasant to be in. The whole place is quite cold and the room radiators are locked in to a very low setting that can't be changed. They will, however, provide extra blankets. The food is terrible, both at breakfast and dinner. The staff range from disinterested to downright rude and most of the time, there's no one to be found at the front desk in the first place. The "spa" is just a sauna that doesn't work and a rest area with incredibly uncomfortable loungers. The lady that roleplays as a masseuse has absolutely no idea what she's doing (and is by far the rudest of the staff). Just a consistently unpleasant place to stay in, across the board. In no world is this a 4 star hotel or worth the price.
