My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Heliconias Nature Inn for a week last week and to say it was spectacular would be an understatement. Alejandro, Diego and Victor were amazing hosts and were at our beck and call 24 hours a day. Our premium treehouse was immaculate and there is nothing quite like waking up in the middle of the rainforest to toucans, wild vultures and fresh sugarcane juice freshly pressed from their own sugarcane grown on the property. Thank you Victor for spoiling us daily!!! I would recommend this once in a lifetime experience to anybody and everybody. It was clean, no bugs or critters to worry about, the staff made us feel so welcome and were super kind and the forest was a dream come true. Thank you Heliconias for a great trip!!!!! 10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I arrived early and Victor made me feel right at home. He showed me around the property with a couple from France via golf cart and then delivered me to my accommodations. Great private bungalow with an outdoor terrace. Great lighting in the bungalow. A/c worked great. Nice mini fridge with separate freezer section and two cold bottles of spring water provided. Coffee maker provided but room was missing coffee. I inquired and room service brought some. The coffee is made here on the property and what I made in the room was 100 percent better than what was served in the onsite restaurant at breakfast. Great bathroom with nice shower with plenty of hot water. Quiet nights. Lots of storage area in the room. No complaints about the lodging. Excellent room service. The accommodations were spotless. The first night I went on the night tour with Victor as the guide. It poured rain. Victor’s enthusiasm is contagious and he did his best to led the tour despite the rain. We found frogs, a couple of different species of toad, insects, spiders and an armadillo! Victor speaks excellent English and was great at spotting the frogs. The night tour was just in the developed area of the hotel and then down to a frog pond (we didn’t go on the actual trails). Nice pool area. I really liked this place though my first experience at the restaurant was not good. I returned the next morning and had a much better experience. I ordered the same thing both days. The first time it was ill prepared. The second time it was good. Although the breakfast definitely could be better and I expect better from a hotel property of this caliber. I have reviewed the restaurant separately. I find the response from the property on my reviews a bit offensive. I like Costa Rican cuisine and am very familiar with it. The problem was with the quality of preparation and ingredients not the type of cuisine. Nice that you can walk down to the river. The trail continued but I only made it to the river because it was muddy (lots of rain). Also the developed area is easy to walk around and paved with pretty plants. This area is handicapped accessible too. And you can spot some cool birds hanging around!

Our family had the pleasure of staying at Heliconias Nature Inn and Hot Springs for a few days in April, and we left with wonderful memories and a few suggestions for future improvement. We stayed in the Glass House Bungalow, which was an absolute highlight of our trip. The room was beautifully surrounded by nature, and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks on our private balcony. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the lush greenery and natural sounds, made it feel like a true escape from everyday life. The hotel breakfast was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and a perfect start to each day. However, it would be great if there were more variety offered on different days to keep the experience exciting for longer stays. We made good use of the pool and the hot springs during our stay. The hot springs were relaxing and serene, and the pool was enjoyable, especially for families. To enhance the pool experience further, it would be helpful if the hotel provided pool floats or toys for children to play with. Additionally, offering ice cream and snacks by the pool (even for an extra charge) would be a great touch for guests spending time by the water. The staff at Heliconias were incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated their willingness to transport us to and from our room using company golf carts—this added a convenient and thoughtful touch to our stay. Overall, we had a great experience and left feeling very satisfied. One recommendation we’d make to future guests planning a 6-day visit to the Arenal region is to split your stay—spend 3 days at Heliconias enjoying the hot springs and peaceful nature, and the next 3 days at another hotel closer to La Fortuna (about 40 minutes away). This way, you can enjoy both the tranquility of Heliconias and the adventure activities available near La Fortuna. Thank you to the staff at Heliconias for a memorable stay. We hope to return again!
