Hotel Hessenhof

The location is excellent (but be aware that parking space is limited), rooms are a little bit outdated, but OK. The service is really bad, especially the owners are very unfriendly when you have an extra wish (e.g., fried eggs for breakfast) or small complaints (e.g., toilet flush is not working correctly). I suggest to find another alternative if possible.

All together it wasn't very bad. However the waitress was not very pleasant and simple refused to speak English, she also had no patients what so ever and made the whole experience Al lot less pleasant. The food tasted pretty good, presentation was ok, but not as good as it used to be. The old school German taste wasn't very much there. Not the classic German vinegar salad that we used to love here. Or the vanilla sauce with the apfelstrudel. Compared to how it was run in the past, talking maybe 6 years ago. The place Has gone backwards considerably.

Lovely looking hotel and nicely equipped rooms. Staff were pretty rude but maybe that's because we were British. Not much parking outside but very close to the centre of town so great location. Very nice swimming pool but when we asked if the sauna could be turned on we were given a blunt no with zero explanation. We were sat down for breakfast but then told we needed to move by a rude lady, despite being sat down by another member of staff at that table.
