Hotel Himalayan Retreat

We stayed for 3 nights in a suite room at Hotel Himalayan Retreat and had a comfortable experience overall. Cleanliness: The hotel and rooms were neat and well-maintained. The bathroom, in particular, was exceptionally clean, which we really appreciated. Staff Behavior: The hotel staff and manager were courteous, professional, and always ready to help. Location: Hotel Himalayan Retreat is about a 10–15 minute walk from Mall Road. While this might be a bit of a stretch for elderly travelers, it's ideal for those who enjoy exploring Darjeeling on foot, like we did. Food: The in-house restaurant serves delicious food, and they offer both dine-in and room service options. Room View: One downside is that the hotel doesn't offer great views from the rooms, unlike some other properties in Darjeeling. Overall: A clean, comfortable, and well-managed hotel that offers good value for money. Hotel Himalayan Retreat is definitely a good option to consider for your stay in Darjeeling—especially if you don't mind a short walk to the main attractions.

We booked three rooms in this hotel and stayed here for three nights. Overall the experience was very enjoyable and the stay was quite comfortable. The hotel is situated in a prime location of the city. The complementary breakfast available is very delicious and ample quantity and variety is served. Plenty of tasty and delicious food items are available for Lunch and Dinner at an affordable price. The staff of the hotel are very well behaved and very courteous and polite. Among all of them Mr Halim deserves special mention because of his extra caring nature and friendly Outlook. He took care of the minute requirements of all guests in the hotel. We would recommend everyone visiting Darjeeling to visit and stay in this hotel for a pleasant experience and comfortable stay.

Rooms are very small and have broken cupboards and un-hygienic quilts. The bathroom is very very small. After we raised an issue with quilt covers and bedsheets kept in the room is not neat they have changed it immediately. Their food is decent but complimentary breakfast does not have any options and we got to eat the same pooris all 3 days. Over all it's an average stay with good service(people who work there are really helpful and kind)
