Lovely hotel in a perfect location. The reception staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the gentleman who looks after the place at night is honestly one of the nicest people we've come across. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but we had a disappointing experience with one of the bar staff. Some extra drinks were added to our bill possibly by mistake but when we brought it up, the response was quite rude. Later that night, we were sitting playing cards when he suddenly turned the lights off without saying a word. It wouldn’t have been such a big deal if he’d just let us know, but it left us in the dark and made it hard to even see the steps. There was another table next to us who had just arrived, and even they said, “Guess he wants us to go to bed,” which isn’t the best first impression when the rest of the staff are so welcoming. That said, the hotel is great value for money and has a really nice atmosphere overall. I’d definitely stay again I’d just avoid the bar next time Also the pets walking round are a really nice touch to see
My parents have been coming here for years. It was time for me to see what the fuss was all about. The location is just far enough from town. If you like peace, that's great as their is no entertainment here. The hotel is on a street that rakes you to the town centre. Our room was a good size, maybe lacking a TV but that did not spoil the holiday. The food here was decent, but they need to sort the breakfast juice out 😁 Great staff and a family of owners. Would come again. Great location on the lakes/River.
Lovely hotel, clean and brilliant air con. Four pools are nice and clean. Unfortunately for our first three days, we were unable to get a sunbed at any of the pools due to people putting towels out at the crack of dawn! However, the hotel management soon stepped in and removed every single towel, much to their guest's annoyance. Signs were then dotted around the pools stating guests were not permitted to reserve beds. It definitely improved after that. The reason I have not given 5 stars was the extremely poor WiFi. It might be worth noting too, that the coffee here is questionable. I asked for a latte at the bar (all food and drinks purchased at the premises go on a tab to be paid at the end of your stay). I received an instant coffee with hot water. When I took it back to the bar, thinking perhaps he had given me the wrong drink, the bar man was a tad abrupt and made a big show of showing me him pressing the button to make the same drink again, despite me saying I did not want it. I avoided the bar after that. In the end we purchased an e-sim with data, rather than the WiFi dropping out every few minutes. Would stay here again, but better Internet would be great!
