Hotel I Somaschi

A pleasant place with nice employees welcoming you in different languages (It, Fr, En at least) rooms are nice and comfy. Parking is free and just next to the hotel. You won't necessary have to grab your car to go for a restaurant a bar or small shopping, all can be reached by foot. The breakfast takes place in the basement vaulted with bricks which is pretty nice. even if in the summer I'd love to take in the garden instead.

The hotel is an old monastery, situated at the edge of the old town of Cherasco, a sleepy little town in the Barolo wine region. The building and its surroundings are stunningly beautiful. The hotel has a pleasant pool area with a good number of sunbeds and a cabaña. The pool area is an extension of the pleasant bistro's terrace, so there's no need to get up from one's sunbed to order appetizers or a cocktail to be enjoyed in the sun. The food in both the fine dining restaurant upstairs as well as in the bistro is very good and a good value for money. The service is friendly and professional across the property. I would recommend this as a base for e.g. visiting Barolo and its wineries, or just taking a couple of days to relax and enjoy the sun, the pool, the good food and the beautiful surroundings.

Renovated monastery...tastefully done. Everything clean. Warm and friendly service from all staff we encountered. Back garden and cafe are beautiful. Breakfast in the basement is a bit sad. Better to pay at the cafe or take a short walk :)
