The hotel is very luxurious and definitely feels more than 4 stars. The staff are super nice, and they always go the extra mile to make you satisfied. Specially the reception lady (I believe her name is Iladia) was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was amazing and complete, and next to the buffet, we also got a menu to choose different types of eggs and drinks (for free). From the location of the hotel, you need transportation to reach Sorrento. But there are several Shuttles to take you there (also for free). Super happy with the service 👍
This is a very charming hotel, originally a monestry it has been a hotel for over 100 years. It has something modern hotels don't have, a type of old world charm and to a degree Italian elegance. Lunch in the wonderful terrace restaurent was excellent, freshly prepared and generous. Eating it while gazing out to the bay was just heavenly. Staff keep the hotel, with all it's comfortable lounges, spotlessly clean. There are wonderful flower displays inside and on the patios and terraces. I found it all heavenly. However the evening meal for those who are part of tour holiday is not up to scratch. The odd meal was acceptable , just enough though to halt one from abandoning eating in the evening at all. The a' la cart menu and meals did look pretty good, but all that did was create a sense of slight injustice for those of us who were doomed to half board. We all ate out in the evening periodically. Breakfast was a good effort by the hotel to cater for all tastes. Would this put me off staying in this hotel again, certainly not. I loved it. I just would like the owners to take that step forward, increase the budget for the chef and match the half board offerings to the wonderful hotel they have.
This is marketed as a 4 star hotel, and in many ways it is. The rooms are nice, we had a sea view with a tiny balcony. The hotel is clean with some lovely seating areas both inside and outside. The view is spectacular. It has a nice pool (usual issues getting a bed at busy times). Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel has a free shuttle bus to Sorrento at various times of the day. However, the food is not 4 star standard, so this would need to improve quite a bit to really deserve a 4 star rating.
