I can not express how awesome this hotel is. Everything from the service, the food, the cleanliness, to the vibe is perfection. Firstly, all employees are smiling (not in a creepy way) and happy to help and assist in any way. Secondly, the food. The buffet breakfast has so many flavorful options. If you leave breakfast hungry, it's your own fault. The Line & Lariat restaurant is impressive. The menu is expertly thought out and speaks to quality over quantity. My husband and I tried multiple dishes, and each one was so good! I highly recommend the chicken pasta. Lastly, the vibe is unmatched! This hotel is located in a historic former bank building, and whomever designed and decorated this hotel brilliantly incorporated many of the original details, such as the original bank vault located behind the check-in counter. Instead of hiding these features, the color scheme and interior design highlight these beautiful features throughout the lobby, restaurant, and elevator hall. The vibe is carried over into the rooms, making you feel like you're in an elegant historical building (with modern amenities) as opposed to transferring into a sterile, basic hotel room that you can find in any city across the country. Marriott outdid themselves at the Icon.

Another amazing Autograph collection hotel with beautiful rooms and great customer service. This one has a lovely view of Houston. The rooms are spacious and serene. Everything from the trim work, molding, brass fixtures and spacious bathroom (tub and standing shower) are done well.

Valet is definitely overpriced, but to their credit, the service was quick and the staff very friendly. The hotel itself is gorgeous with a great atmosphere, full of historic charm. Our room had an old A/C unit that initially made things feel damp, but once it cooled down, it was much more comfortable. The room was spacious with a large, beautiful bathroom featuring elegant tile, a deep soaking tub, and a big stand-up shower. Beds were super comfy, and even the elevators, though older, added to the vintage vibe in a good way. Overall, a great stay with tons of character!
