Hotel Ilunion Barcelona

Excellent establishment; stumbled across it when our flight to Lisbon was canceled & the airline redirected us here for the night. Very accommodating & saved us when they were pretty much fully booked! Very nice rooms & the restaurant on the main floor has some amazing food!

I don’t understand how this hotel gets 4 stars. The only good thing about it is that the room and bath are spacious. We didn’t even get free water in the room, and the facilities are just average. The AC didn’t work well the first day and then slowly they fixed it. I paid $270 a night. Not recommending.

Let me start by saying the room was filthy. Cleaning? Barely existed. Dust, hair, stains - like no one bothered to do a proper job. They call themselves “dog-friendly” - that’s a joke. My dog is friendly, calm, trained, and clean. Yet we were treated like pests. Staff looked disgusted, guests stared. The whole place radiated hostility toward animals. You shouldn’t advertise as dog-friendly if you can’t handle the presence of dogs - my dog. And now the worst part: My backpack was stolen literally at the front door of the hotel, right after check-in, at 11 AM - broad daylight. We were unloading our luggage and boom - gone. The hotel staff? Completely indifferent. Not even a “we’re sorry.” No help, no camera footage, no concern. Just a cold “go to the police, not our problem.” How dare you call yourselves hospitality professionals? You create an unsafe, unwelcoming, and frankly disgusting environment. Absolutely shameful.
