We loved our stay at the hotel indigo. The rooms were spacious for NYC and the bathroom was clean and modern. The show stopper was the view from the rooftop pool. After a long day of walking NYC it felt extra lux to soak while admiring the skyline. Additionally, the Lower East Side was a cool neighborhood with good food and coffee shops everywhere. We stayed with kids and it was great.
I read the noise reviews and as a new yorker i thought people were exaggerating. THEY DON'T. the noise from the club is unbearable! You not only hear it but also feel it! Until 4am! Had to use earplugs! The rooms are fine for the price, a bit old but okay. Bed is comfy. Staff is nice. The pool is poorly planned and was always shaded.
My mom came to visit me in the city for July 4th weekend and stayed at this hotel. She stayed in room 415. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were gross, considerably worn, pool lack-luster, and we both injured ourselves trying to close the bathroom door. In the end, it was not worth the costly nightly rate considering these factors. First, the rooms were not very clean. We found straight long hairs on the sheets even though we both have short curly hair. The floors were covered in scratches and what looked like caked on dirt. We ended up buying slippers because we felt uncomfortable walking around bare foot (see photos). I found chewed green bubble gum on the side of one of the portraits near the head of the bed (see photo). The chairs in the room were so worn that they were missing paint on both of the arms. While that did not hinder the use of the chairs, it was just confusing why the hotel charged so much for such dated, low quality furniture (see photos). Lastly, the bathroom door was ridiculous. It was SO heavy. It was also a sliding door. So when we tried to close it, we had to pull on the handle forcefully to get it to move. Once it began moving, it had so much momentum that it was hard to stop and whoever built the handle positioned it too close to the door frame. In the end, our hand would get slammed between the heavy door and the door frame. It was hard to avoid as a result of the weight of the door and the misplaced door handle (see photo). The hotel should consider fixing this for the safety of its patrons. I know that this hotel has the charm of the rooftop pool but it’s the size of a postage stamp and was overrun with children. The children were lovely but the crowded space meant that the pool was not as easy to use. Again, it wasn’t worth staying at the hotel if you can find something else.
