We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Indigo, it is right around the corner from the train station & a short walk to everything else. Our room had a massive window with a beautiful tree right outside which made a great view. It is a dog friendly hotel which is great, and the staff were super lovely. Particularly of note was one of the men who served us in the lounge/bar/restaurant who gave really great service. My only note is that I struggled to get through to reception / room service, calling multiple times over the course of 2 days with no answer.
This was my second stay at the hotel. I was happy to be placed on the 8th floor, where it was quiet and the room was clean and well-maintained. During my two-night stay, I requested housekeeping once. I appreciated having the towels replaced and the bathroom cleaned. As a member, I understand that late check-out until 2:00 PM is available depending on room availability. This time, I was only able to stay until 12:00 PM, which was not a problem in itself. However, I had emailed the hotel in advance regarding a late check-out, and the response was quite delayed. Even then, the reply was vague, saying only that my request would be “considered,” without confirming anything specific. I eventually had to call the front desk from my room to ask about the check-out time myself. Unfortunately, the phone had a lot of static and it was difficult to get through. Once I did, I was informed that I could stay until 12:00 PM. To add to the confusion, I later received an online message asking me to check out by 10:00 AM, which contradicted the information I had received. I would suggest avoiding such conflicting messages in the future, as they can be quite confusing for guests.
We stayed at Hotel Indigo Melbourne for 6 nights and absolutely loved it! The bed was super comfy, and the blackout curtains made it way too easy to sleep in. The location was perfect—right near the trams but still incredibly quiet thanks to the soundproof windows. Breakfast was a daily highlight—fresh, delicious, and a great way to start each day. A special shoutout to Ethan at reception—he was so helpful and friendly, a real standout and such a credit to the team. Also, if you’re nearby, check out Lau’s Café 888 just up the road—their steak sandwich is next level. Would definitely stay again!
