Hotel Indigo Shanghai On The Bund by IHG

Cha bar views are just spectacular and if your room faces the river you will have a stunning aspect. The Pearl is almost directly opposite. Rooms are good and breakfast is great.

Indigo has been our hotel of choice in Shanghai for years. This is our first time back since the covid shut down. The hotel has lost a bit of it's luster. Still a charming place, lighting and elevator areas could be brighter.

I had a very disappointing experience at your hotel due to a lack of clarity and communication from the reception staff regarding the payment process. Upon check-in, the receptionist made a serious mistake by not explaining the charges in advance. She simply handed me the card machine and charged the full amount to my bank card—including the room rate and a deposit—without any prior explanation or providing a receipt. When I raised the issue, the hotel staff informed me that the general manager refused to resolve the matter by refunding the incorrect deduction in cash. This response is completely unacceptable and reflects very poor service. As a foreign guest, I felt unwelcome and unfairly treated. I don’t recommend anyone to this hotel
