Rooms were a bit dated but good overall. Everything worked. For a spa hotel I was surprised only basic soap was available in the bathroom. Zero toiletries. Spa was not quite what I expected. Jacuzzi was cold. Sauna, steam room, etc had nudist policy. I don’t like that and I can’t get relaxed sitting naked or sweat extra and sit wrapped in a towel. I wish this was made clear on booking.com.

Lovely hotel although very confusing layout - hard to find you way around, especially at first with the lifts sending you into a completely different dimension depending which door you chose to go out of. I think reception should make an effort to explain this a bit to people if possible. There was very bad smell in room 609 this morning, it was like a drain smell. No pool robes in this room either. Nothing was set for breakfast in the bar area, where we had to go with our dog (tables had no cutlery or place setting). If you expect people to go to a different area for eating, you should make it ready for them! But overall, a nice experience

Difficult to rate the stay at Hotel Koener. We initially got put into room 606 which, after reading the reviews, we now know is a notorious room! Awful damp smell, toilet leaking, broken seat. Not great. Staff were great, came up immediately, agreed and upgraded us for free. We got the presidential suite which is certainly a unique room! The bed was unfortunately not comfortable and the bathroom was baking hot despite the heating being off. We did, however, have a good time at the spa - included in our stay. The water in the jacuzzi was a little cold and there were screaming children in the pool even though it should be a quiet area. Sauna and Hamam were top notch and we spent plenty of time there. All staff were friendly, polite and professional. Whole establishment needs a bit of a boost and some care - lots of rooms and places looking a little sorry for themselves.
