Hotel Ipanema

This Hotel was a perfect location for me. Close to the town either using bus(a short walk to stop) or cable car(the same short walk) & beaches especially Isabella. The hotel has its own roof terrace with its own pool. The Hotel is a little tired in places but there is a certain charm about the place. All staff were very friendly & helpful. You are able to book.excursions here too. Download the bus app Omio. Helpful for planning bus journeys. Prices reasonable. I would definitely recommend staying here

Mr Santo(the maitre) was staring at us at breakfast counting what we eat. Suddenly he got mad and starting threatening us speaking half Italian, half English. He was waving his hand at us in a threatening manner. His behavior made us feel uncomfortable and put us in a very awkward position. Unfortunately, it ruined our vacation!

I was eating breakfast with my girlfriend and suddenly maitre Santo(old man wearing white t-shirt) passed from our table and started saying something to us in a raised voice in italian. We ignore him. A few minutes later he passed again from our table and starting yelling in my face and moving his finger too close from my face threatening me, in english this time, that i should eat everything from my table and not leave 2 slice of bread and and an egg. Shouting with anger “ you should not take food from the buffet that you dont eat” The food that I didnt eat was 2 slice of bread and an egg!!!! He continued threatening me that i have to pay extra to him or he will kick me out of the hotel. I went immediately in the reception, she told me that she wouldn talk to him. No one apologised to me.Then i went in the evening in the reception again and asked for the manager or the owner of the hotel. She told me that he was on holiday and i could make complain text. So did i. She copied it and she told me that she will inform the owner. I dont if this text will ever reach the owner or she will tear it.
