Hotel Jatay

We were hesitant to stay here based on a few time mixed reviews and not having been in Tijuana for over 20 years. The first time we went to a family reunion with family and 3 kids under 10 everyone was pleased with their stay and the location, hotel is within walking distance of beach, shopping, coffee shops, breakfast, lunch & dinner spots. A year later we returned and both times our experience was good. There is covered parking we parked once inside and the other on the street. No complaints everyone felt safe rooms were clean

Housekeeping at this hotel is incredibly attentive and professional, and I want to give special recognition to Marichuy—she is absolutely amazing! Marichuy was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and accommodating throughout my stay. She went out of her way to work around my schedule, ensuring that my room was spotless without ever disrupting my day. Her professionalism and warm demeanor truly made me feel at home. The quality of service she provided was outstanding and deeply appreciated. On top of that, the view from my room was beautiful, and my overall stay was wonderful. I couldn’t be happier with the experience!

DANGEROUS Security Breach – Do Not Stay Here! ⚠️ ZERO STARS! Beware of staff! I’m writing this review to WARN ALL TRAVELERS about a terrifying and dangerous experience we had at Hotel Jatay in Playas de Tijuana. At 3:30 AM, while we were asleep in our room, someone was given a key to our hotel room and broke in. We woke up to the sound of our door opening and a stranger entering while we were inside. Thankfully we acted fast & shot out of bed & was able to get the door shut! This wasn’t a simple mistake – this was a severe breach of security and guest safety. Someone knew there were two women in that room. We were horrified and shaken. When we reported the incident, the hotel staff’s response was completely inadequate and concerning. Something with the Security guard was OFF. There was no explanation of how or why a key was issued to someone else for our room. There were no immediate actions taken to ensure our safety or investigate the incident. There has STILL been no response from the hotel management on this and/ or our refund for the days we didn’t stay. We were left feeling unsafe and unprotected. We immediately packed and left the premises within 30 minutes. This hotel clearly has SERIOUS issues with security, management, and accountability. If this could happen to us, it could happen to anyone. No guest should ever have to fear someone entering their room period. Please think twice before booking here – your safety is not worth the risk.
