Hotel Jose Antonio Puno

Excellent service food..legacy...having stayed at sister properties in cusco and lima..The design of rooms are similar. The material provided in rooms is of great quality.Erica and elegance.. The check in was not so smooth..infact..passport portability of details within their system should have been enabled long ago as they are all in peru. Breakfast buffet is a treat...awesome variety and mind boggling. A shout to Carmen for her hospitality and the nice egg omlette. Also gratitude to Christian for help with cellotape. Clean passages with flowers..music and lake outside..

This is big hotel just on the outskirts of Puno with excellent views. The lobby bar area is beautiful and comfortable. I had a suite room that was large and comfortable and had spectacular views. Overall the hotel is a little dated but clean and well maintained. The bathroom is small and could use an update; a high-sided tub with no grab bars and the towel rack right outside of it makes it hard to get in and out of. Dinner at the restaurant was better than I expected for this type of hotel, slightly above average. There's a walkway over the road to a small garden and the private pier, bit there are no chairs there or on the room balconies to enjoy the outdoor spaces. It's not that far to get into Puno but does require a taxi or private transportation.

The hotel is about 10 minutes from downtown Puno. Our room was not well lit, batteries for the lock box were dead (had to have replaced), the hall light was not always kept on for our section of the hall and it was dark, and the carpet was a little iffy. Service was good in the restaurant, at the front desk , and in the bar. Breakfasts are really good and well stocked.
