Hotel Kapetanovina

We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Kapetanovina in Mostar that I just have to share my experience. This place truly deserves 4 stars! The rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable—honestly better than many higher-rated hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I want to give a special mention to the owner, Nihat. He was incredibly helpful and kind. (Greetings to him!) The location is absolutely perfect. It’s just a 2-minute walk from the old Ottoman-style bazaar (Baščaršija) and the famous Old Bridge of Mostar. You really can’t ask for better. The view from the hotel towards the center is also excellent. Breakfast was really good too, with a nice variety of ingredients to choose from each morning. Overall, both the hotel and Mostar itself left a deep impression on me. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting this beautiful city!

Hotel Kapetanovina may be a 3-star hotel on paper, but it punches well above its weight. Rooms were spotless, with clean bedsheets and a perfectly working shower and bathroom — exactly what you want after a day exploring Mostar. Breakfast was more than decent, and honestly, for Mostar, this is one of the best options around. Special shoutout to Indira at the reception — not sure why she has an Indian name, but she was amazing! Super helpful and seemed to run the whole place like a pro. Great value, great location, great stay. No free parking, street parking is hit and miss but there is a paid parking lot nearby.

Absolutely terrible stay! One of the worst hotels I have ever experienced. The staff were rude and unprofessional, with zero respect for guests. The cleanliness was unacceptable — no one cleaned the rooms at all, claiming the housekeepers had left. The place was noisy and full of disturbances. The air conditioning barely worked. The receptionist even raised her voice and hung up the phone in my face. Breakfast was miserable and inedible. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel at all costs.
