Hotel Karlova Prague Mostecka 10 st Depandance

Very nice place to stay for short trips. Perfect area to have some sightseeing, lots of restaurants and bars close by In the middle of the historic center of Prague. If we come back one day, we'd love to stay there again

This was two days of vacation for my spouse and me, which this hotel turned into a nightmare! We stayed in Room 302, facing the road. At first glance, it seemed like a cozy and very clean room with the necessary amenities. However, if you have large suitcases, carrying them up the winding stairs to the third floor is a nightmare because there’s no elevator. (Fortunately, we only had backpacks.) We dropped off our belongings and went out to explore the city. We returned to the hotel at midnight, frozen, as it was extremely cold outside with temperatures around 0–1°C. Our room was also freezing. The heating is controlled by the owner and set to 23°C via a computer, and you can’t increase it. There is an air conditioner, but it doesn’t work on warm settings (cold air only works if the outside temperature is above 25°C). All this information was found on a piece of paper left on the table, which also listed the ridiculous rules for the room. If you want the room to be warmer than 22–23°C, you have to message the owner and pay extra (this is written in the instructions). After this, I went to take a hot shower, only to find that barely any water came out of the showerhead. On top of that, both the shampoo and shower gel bottles were empty! This was the coldest and most miserable night of all my travels. We shivered the entire night due to the cold. The next day, I messaged the owner about this. Instead of understanding our situation, apologizing, or trying to resolve the issue, they sent nonsensical responses and asked us to pay the **City Tax** (€2.2 per person). To sum up their response, they essentially said that when I went to shower and found there was no water, shampoo, or shower gel, I should have contacted them. They live 10–15 minutes away from the property (or perhaps they even expected me to go there myself to pick up the items). In short, the staff and the room were absolutely horrible!

AC is so bad Sleepless nights are guaranteed due to the heat. We specifically chose this place because the description said air conditioning. It turned out that the air conditioner was all dusty inside. The air conditioner cannot be lowered below 22 degrees Celsius. On our honeymoon we only needed air conditioning, but it didn't actually work. Please provide truthful information and do not indicate the conditioner in the description. In its settings you can see that the administrator has configured it so that it is impossible to cool the sleeping room. We should not have believed the description on the booking that you have air conditioning. In this hotel, air conditioning is a non-functional decoration.
