Hotel Kasteel Geulzicht

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay when visiting the Valkenburg kerstmarket, this is it. The village itself can be too busy; Geulzicht is quite close but far enough away to really relax and enjoy the surroundings. We were here just before Christmas but surely it is lovely to stay here in the spring and summer as well. Beautiful location, very close to bicycle rental, which is a great way to explore the area and make your way into town (10-15 minutes bike ride). Multicourse dinner in the restaurant was incredible. The owner and chef are super friendly, and having this restaurant in-house helped us to enjoy our short stay to the maximum. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with many options. Highly recommend

I stayed at Hotel Geulzicht for a week's holiday. It's a lovely hotel on a perfect location next to the tiny (but lively!) river Geul. The hotel owners are very friendly and make you feel at home, just as the staff. Great food (chef Stijn) and service (Marissa) in the cozy restaurant. My room had a comfy bed and was clean and well maintained. Breakfast is included, with very good coffee!

Everything was just perfect! The hotel is located at a dead-end road and so serene as it is also on the river Geul. The soft sound of water flowing was so calming. The hosts were incredibly cheerful, like sunshine on a dull day. So many inspiring and adventurous stories to tell about the hotel and surroundings. We stayed 3 nights and the breakfast was always sumptuous, with a different surprise every day. And oh, the coffee, freshly brewed by the host himself. The room was cozy and the bathroom was spacious, very clean. Good restaurants are walking distance, one just a minute away and offers great Italian food. If you don't feel like walking, the train station is certainly not far, which can take you to Valkenburg. We'll surely be back!
