Kesslermühle is one from a variety of wellness hotels in the southern black forest. It distinguishes itself in two ways from other hotels: first, it has a large and very nice SPA area with an outdoor and indoor pool for swimming and various sauna options. Ideal for a relaxing stay. Second, it offers some very fine dining with a 6 course menu served each evening. The quality of the food is outstanding and makes for e very oleasant culinary experience. The breakfast buffet is also very good and offers something for everyone. From muesli to omelett to meats and cheeses and sweets, it has it all. I will definitely return there, and I recommend you do the same.
This place is very easily reachable by train. You can just take a taxi from the local train station and then it’s just five minutes by taxi to the hotel. The staff here is beyond friendly I cannot stress that enough the rooms are very nice and big and bright. The beds are quite comfortable. In the lower floor there is a fully equipped gym as well as a pool table. The spa treatments are very relaxing and I highly recommend the candle massage. One does not really have to leave the hotel for anything because the breakfast buffet is plenty and extremely fresh the dinner you select during breakfast and has nothing to ask for you can even make adjustments to your selection or ask for something else if you have to. In the bar has a nice selection of cocktails, be careful that you don’t have too many otherwise you don’t make it up the stairs. Would recommend it and will definitely come back in summer to hike the area.
Overall good experience. The food was nice. We only had a one night stay and unfortunately it was raining all day long. Only one thing I suggest improving will be the check in process. The check in was one of the quickest I have ever had. The staff only let us sign off some doccuments and point us to our room. For a four star hotel at this price point, I would expect they talk us through where the restaurant, spa, swimming pools are, what time is the dinner and breakfast etc... Doesn't have to show us where they are, but perhaps at least briefly tell us some information.
