This stay may be the best experience I have had on this earth (up to now😜). Contact with the hotel was a breeze, from the driver picking us up to giving us a tour, and the hotel workers were super friendly before we even settled into our apartment. The views from our balcony were stunning, and the room was super clean. We had a great stay at Hôtel & Apartments Kirchbühl and would return whenever we visit Switzerland again.
This hotel is located in the right spot 👌. Spectacular views of the enormous mountains. I was there for a birthday celebration and it is a great location to celebrate any occasion. Service was very friendly, young and smiling women serving food, with an attitude of greatness .
This hotel is good for locals not for foreign travelers. Just take a look at how the owner responds to those low-star reviews on this page — that alone should be a red flag. As someone who has traveled extensively across Europe, the US, Asia, and the Middle East, this was by far our worst experience. Some good things: - room was cozy, clean, and well-kept considering how long ago this hotel was built, with a large balcony. - The views from the balcony and the restaurant downstairs were genuinely beautiful. We enjoyed the peaceful view. Location is indeed far from the station but the view it offers worth the distance. Bad: - The service was terrible. Suggest everyone read through the low-star reviews on this page before you make a reservation — especially the owner’s responses - JUST CHECK IT OUT. The defensiveness and hostility toward guests who leave honest feedback is unbelievable. To the owner: You and your family seriously need to stop trying to “educate” your guests — especially in such a passive-aggressive tone. You are in no position to lecture anyone, least of all paying customers. - The staff overall were completely unprofessional — rude, dismissive, and lacking even the most basic sense of hospitality. That said, I want to acknowledge that there were a few younger staff members, likely in their 20s, who stood out in a positive way: one girl with very short hair, another with long braided hair and a young man who genuinely tried to be helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff — especially the more senior ones — were shockingly rude and completely uninterested in guest experience. - We felt completely ignored during both dinner and breakfast. While other tables were constantly being checked on — offered fresh plates, and warmly thanked when they left — we were treated like we didn’t exist. The only person who approached us did so just to ask if we were “almost finished” because they were closing. To the Owner: Do yourself a real favor — go visit an actual 4-star hotel. Look at how hotels around the world treat their guests. Your refusal to acknowledge basic standards of hospitality will eventually shut this place down. And no, not everything can be brushed off as “cultural differences” — the problem here is clearly a lack of basic manners and respect.
