We really enjoyed this hotel. We were welcomed with friendly service. Room was spacious and comfortable. The heated bathroom was a welcome touch. Breakfast was included in our stay and it had everything we needed to fuel us for our day (even had cod oil supplement!). Highly recommend Hotel Klaustur!
This was my favourite of all the hotels we stayed at in Iceland. The location was perfect and the facilities at the hotel were just what we needed. The room was a little on the basic side but still lovely and comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful and happy to help us plan our activities, even going as far as making the necessary arrangements for us. The hotel had a Northern Lights "wake up" call option on the phone which came in handy. I felt very safe here, despite it being quite remote. The breakfasts were delicious and had lots of options. The evening meals were wonderful too.
For starters, they gave us a complimentary upgrade to our room. The restaurant inside the hotel was phenomenal. I ordered the mushroom risotto and it was the perfect meal to end our busy day. The next day, breakfast was closed an hour before we came down…yet they still brought us into the dining room and treated us to a full breakfast. Cannot recommend this place enough!
