The restaurant at Hotel Kreuz Sachseln exceeded my expectations! The food is absolutely delicious, thoughtfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and the service is top-notch — the staff is friendly and attentive. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxing dinner after a long day, and worth visiting even if you're not staying at the hotel. Highly recommended! 🌟
I’ve stayed at your hotel multiple times and have always enjoyed staying. I do have a suggestion for improvement: I find that the comforter is too warm for me to sleep comfortably. Just the comforter cover is too cold, so I’ve used a bath robe as a blanket. A choice of a proper blanket would be helpful.
For people curious about why we move the wardrobe against the door and for people consider living in this hotel, I hope you can patiently read my experience with this hotel. I book this hotel in my trip from Lake Lucern to Interlaken. We get to Sachseln train station around 10pm, hop off the train and then realize the hotel is on the top of the hill 0.7 miles away from the train station. When you finally get to the hotel, the only thing you will find is a check-in machine. The checking in isn’t too bad and in the end I got assigned to room 3. Great, now it’s just moving in the stuff and get a good sleep right? It turned out not to be the case, not only because all the hotel rooms are double digits but also because they have no instructions on why such a hilarious room number appears. So we called the customer service for the instructions. And the four conversations are not the worst among all my interactions with impatient and irresponsible customer service. The customer service direct me to the room 3, which turned out to be room 103 in another building. As I tired entering the room, they suddenly insisted that my room is 102 instead and ask me not to enter 103. I told them the machine said room 3, but the lady from the customer service insisted that from the phone number I am calling (my personal phone number and the one I left for my reservation) the room should be 102. Although I am confused but I still followed their instructions to go back to the lobby and rescanned the key (they rewrite the key to be 102). When we get back to the other building and scanned the card entering the room, we met a nice old lady just finished showering. She was as confused as we are. We said the hotel insisted and gave us the key for 102, and she said she also has the key for 102. So then I called customer service again, and someone picked up the phone and leave it hanging. Fortunately I reached out to an actual person the second time I called them, and a guy told me I should be in room 3 and ask me to rescan the card AGAIN in the lobby. It’s only until now I finally get into my room with no AC, non working hair dryer, a bottle of tap water charged for CHF 20, and an unsafe lock that any random person can open and you cannot even lock it from inside. Another funny thing is that they asked you which language you speak in the beginning of the phone call but no matter what you choose they will speak German to you. I bet people with good reviews have really good luck avoiding all the problems that this hotel has. PLEASE DO SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION WHEN BOOKING THIS HOTEL. Also if you are the hotel management, I would appreciate if you can reach out to me about the problems that exist but I would understand if your thoughts aligned with your customer service agent who said “I don’t see any problem, there is no problem.”
