Rooms were nice and big, a little dim but spacious. There was a convenience store at the lobby. The breakfast was really good, lots of variety. Though i didn't use it I know there was a sauna that was available for use in the mornings.
Hotel Laonzena was an average hotel and I would give it 3 stars. Our check-in process wasn't very welcoming - we arrived at 1.45pm, just an hour before the official check-in time of 3pm. We asked if we could check in early but the front desk lady immediately dismissed our request and told us to come back at 3pm. She didn't even take the initiative to check her computer to see if a room was available. That left us with quite the unwelcoming experience. The room was a bit dated and tired looking, and small. The double bed also wasn't that comfortable. The bathroom was good though. The swimming pool was closed throughout our stay. They gave us a single coupon for breakfast which was very strange given there were two of us. The breakfast layout was very strange - there were about 7-8 round tables with 6 chairs each. Food was mainly Korean cuisine but the coffee was good. Unlike the check-in experience, the front desk staff during our check-out were very friendly and polite. They even stored our luggage for us in a secure location after we checked out, and even called us a taxi to the train station. They told us the ride was about 7 minutes and would cost around 7,000 Won, and it was very accurate.
The check-in was unwelcoming. The man on the front desk was very rude and spoke in a poor manner. He didn’t explain about the breakfast even though it was included on the reservation. Just explained that we could smoke inside of the room but there was ‘No smoking’ sign, which led us confused. The room seemed old and dirty with the extremely damaged carpet on the floor. The amenities are unsatisfied, seemed like a motel quality with the two cheap teabags and instant coffee mix. You need to bring your own toiletries since there’s no products for face, toothbrushes or toothpaste. We requested the airport taxi as we checked out but the frontman told us to use Kakao Taxi with my own mobile phone. Will never come back and wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone who visit Daegu.
