Hotel Le Balze Aktiv & Wellness

My husband and I spent a week at Hotel Le Balze Active & Wellness for a tennis-focused getaway, and it exceeded all expectations. The hotel is located on top of the mountain with spectacular views of Lake Garda. It much fresher than the lake and a great breeze so perfect to get away from the summer heat. The resort is located in a beautiful green area that is perfect for biking, hiking, tennis and even just relaxing in nature. The hotel is impeccable! They clearly repaint all the walls at the beginning of the season, because you couldn't find a scuff on a wall. The staff was always cleaning (even scrubbing clean the fabric on the restaurant chairs). The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and very comfortable. You can't even find water spots in the shower. Super comfortable linens, pillows and mattress. Breakfast is quite extensive and very good (best scrambled eggs ever). Everything from juices, fruits, cakes, breads, pancakes, jams, cold cuts, cheeses and so much more. We had dinner at the restaurant every evening and I must say the chef is excellent. There are great choices for antipasti, first and second courses and dessert. I am in the restaurant business and must say I was impressed with the quality of the meals. All meals are had with a beautiful panoramic view of the lake and given the shape of the building is a circumference all the tables enjoy the stunning panorama. The service staff is super friendly and polite. Everyone speaks multiple languages and go out of their way to make the stay pleasurable. By the end of our stay we knew everyone by name. It is very family friendly, with mini golf, basketball, internal pool, spa, pilates and yoga. A couple of nights we had entertainment post dinner (a magician performance and Live music). The clay tennis courts are pristine and super well kept. Pizzeria by the courts is excellent (thin crust pizza is delicious). We took lessons with a wonderful coach (Matteo) who was super helpful in tuning up our skills . We ended up staying an extra night because our stay was so enjoyable. We will be back for sure.

The hotel is far up the mountain. The road to the hotel is bit tiring and lengthy starting from the main road. The guests needs to be careful while driving at that road. The hotel is average and not worth 4 star l. The view from hotel is the only advantage of it. Other than that basically nothing. We asked the hotel service team to turn on the air conditioning because the weather was hot but unfortunately they refused to turn it on. The breakfast is below average. I don’t recommend choosing this hotel.

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs! My stay at Le Balze Aktiv & Wellness was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff were unbelievably rude and unhelpful. There was zero sense of hospitality or basic decency. I was made to feel like a burden rather than a guest. The restaurant staff were especially rude and arrogant, acting as if doing their job was too much to ask. Simple requests were met with eye-rolls or flat-out ignored. Service was painfully slow, and the attitude was just unacceptable. Eating there felt like a punishment, not part of a relaxing holiday. As for cleanliness — forget it. The towels looked like they’ve been used since the year 2000 — worn out, stained, and absolutely disgusting. It made me question the hygiene standards of the entire hotel. When I raised concerns, I was met with more rudeness and zero effort to resolve anything. It’s clear they don’t care about their guests at all. Their idea of “wellness” must be completely different from the rest of the world. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Overpriced, outdated, and downright disrespectful. Stay far away. 0/10. A complete disgrace.
