This hotel is absolutely exceptional — it exceeded all our expectations. We stayed for four nights to ski and celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday, and every moment was unforgettable. We were given a stunning chalet with breathtaking views of the mountains and ski lifts. The ski room staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable — having warm boots put on for you each morning was such a luxury! All of the staff were genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to assist. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with every detail carefully considered. The spa was a definite highlight, featuring a gorgeous indoor-outdoor pool along with a sauna and steam room that were perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Although we only dined at the hotel twice, both meals were absolutely delicious. This is truly a world-class alpine resort, and I cannot wait to return. A solid 10/10!

Where to begin! Our stay at Le Coucou was magical from start to finish. The concierge team, in particular Jeremy, made sure we got every tough reservation we wanted. Upon check-in we were greeted with friendly smiles and impeccable service. Our room overlooked the slopes and every evening our children were greeted with a new amenity -- from stuffed animals, to pastries, to cake and more! On my birthday, there was not a single staff member that didn't wish me. It was as if a memo was sent around to the hotel. The ski chalet was the best we ever experienced. Our kids begged to go to the kids club every evening. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. Our kids are already asking when we can return!

TL;DR: Choose this hotel if you want to get your things stolen, get sick, and be treated badly/discriminated against aka ruin your vacation. We stayed in this hotel from January 7th to 12th and it was possibly the worst decision we made. After spending over 8000 euros, we have left feeling sick and completely unhappy. Here are some reasons why: 1. Management and reception: We had booked a Prestige room from the 8th to the 12th then decided to add an additional night for the 7th. Unfortunately, they only had Deluxe rooms available on the 7th. Leading up to our stay, we requested multiple times to let us know if a Prestige room opened up for the 7th so that we wouldn't have to change rooms during our stay. Upon arrival, they put us in a room that was very clearly a Deluxe room and possibly one of the worst ones (right next to the ski room with zero privacy or peace) and outright LIED to us saying they had "upgraded us" and it was a Prestige room. We were not happy but were told the hotel was fully booked and we had no other options. That night, the room was unbearably hot with the thermostat broken at 25 degrees Celsius. Again, the reception kept lying to us saying that they were going to fix it. We were sweating unbearably and couldn't sleep so finally at midnight, we insisted on changing rooms. We were then moved for the night to a "Deluxe Room" which was an exact copy of our alleged "Prestige room" down to size, square footage, decor, layout etc. proving, again, that we had been lied to. The next morning, we were moved to what was very clearly a Deluxe Junior Suite and told it was a "Prestige Room". I'm so confused as to why they lied and continued to maintain the lie. I wasn't expecting special treatment; only what I paid for. Really shady practice that left a bad taste. Also, there were zero apologies made for all the inconvenience caused. 2. Concierge: The concierge service was inconsistent. The team seemed overwhelmed and depending on the team member were rude and unhelpful. Example: We asked the female concierge a simple question about recommended slopes on the Meribel side on our first night and the response was "I only ski in Courchevel. Get a ski instructor if you have questions". The shuttle service to town was not provided on a first come, first serve basis but instead to whoever the concierge "favored" which meant that you could end up waiting for long periods. 3. Safety: On our last day, we checked out of the room around 10 am to go skiing before our train at 6 pm. We left our packed luggage in the storage room. Most of the luggage was locked except one laptop bag with my wallet. Upon coming back, we noticed that a $100 bill was missing from the wallet. More importantly, I had a Canadian $20 note of sentimental value in a separate, zippered pocket in the wallet and that was missing too. Truly unexpected to see actual (petty) theft from a hotel of this caliber. When we raised it to the concierge/reception, they treated us pretty badly and refused to accept the facts/tried to pretend like we might have "dropped" the money. I didn't use my wallet the entire time I was in the hotel. It's not the amount ($120 makes no difference to my life in comparison to amount we spent at the hotel) but it's the principle of having something stolen. 4. Health: Lastly, we got really, really sick due to the staff at Le Fumoir being really, really sick and passing it to us. Most of the staff in the bar was coughing and sneezing and I saw an employee blowing their nose and then making drinks without washing hands. Not the staff's fault but the management needs to have better policies to keep staff and guests healthy and safe I've traveled to over 53 countries and I'm pretty tolerant of all that transpires during travel but this was probably one of my worst hotel experiences ever. I want to say that the staff and service in ski room was beyond incredible and that team was probably the best hospitality experience of my life. Housekeeping was also great and the staff in Beefbar and at breakfast were pretty nice too.
