Hotel Leon D Oro

We stayed there with our 6 year old son for a short three day trip to Prague. We arrived at the hotel around 11 am and were told that our room will be ready for around 2 which we had expected so it wasn’t as issue. Location wise the hotel couldn’t be more perfect. It was a 2 minute walk to the old town square and around 15 min walk to Charles Bridge and 25-30 minutes to walk to Prague Castle. Although the decor of the hotel was a little on the classic/outdated style it was very clean. The breakfast was excellent with everything you would expect being available. However on 2nd day despite leaving the room makeup request on the door our room wasn’t cleaned. The same thing on the 3rd day. To be fair since our boy was pretty tired we had the do not disturb sign on the door from 4 pm onwards but normally the rooms should be made up and cleaned before 3 pm. Our room was quite big and clean with a super king and a king size bed with very comfortable mattress. The pillows were a bit on the soft side but still ok. The TV was old and outdated with no English channels apart from BBC news which isn’t really what you want to watch on a holiday. Unfortunately though our room was towards the back of the hotel which meant that the view was of rooms facing us which basically meant to view and very little light. Overall based on the location of the hotel and friendless of the staff we would definitely recommend.

Amazing hotel at great location, in the heart of it all. Getting to the hotel was very easy using the subway, which is few meters from the hotel. Rooms are extra large, feels like staying at a castle. Amazing staff service, welcoming and helpful all the time. Special shout out to Vladimir for going above & beyond to give us the right advice and service. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended!

The hotel is located at 5 min walk from the old town square and the astronomical watch. The location was the main reason we chose it. The rooms are comfortable but the furniture is very old. The air conditioning didn’t work properly - only ventilation but no cooling. They were aware so I guess nothing could be done - I could say a renovation would be very useful. Besides that, you have all the amenities you could need. The staff is friendly and easy to communicate with. The breakfast was pretty diverse and the food was good and fresh.
