Hotel Lido Mediterranee

Really loved our stay here! Hotel is vintage but in a nice way! Views were great, lovely area to eat breakfast under the canopy of trees right next to the beach and tree. We had a superior terrace room and loved it! 10 minute drive and you’re in Taormina main strip. Would highly recommend

Great view and beach location! Vintage means tired in this case. No reason to give up on maintenance but in some areas it is clear they have. Meal options on site are very limited. This is especially true of dinner which starts at 8:00 with the only option being driving down the coast or into town. Very good selection at breakfast. Dinner was decent but then by 8 most would be. We were not allowed to eat our own food on the very large patio even though the restaurant wasn’t open. It was like staying at a resort without a full compliment of services. Prefer to be able to park my car and either have full service or easily walk to nearby services, especially in Italy.

I had my worst experience at the reception of this hotel. After I asked for flip-flops and an extra key, the woman at the reception began speaking to me in a rude and louder tone. She then walked over to her colleague on the other side and muttered something in Italian behind my back. I then parked my car in the correct spot and wanted to go to my room, but another woman at the reception called me over. She told me, “We need the details of your credit card as a guarantee.” I said that the other woman at the reception had told me earlier that I could also pay the city tax when I check out. She just repeated her sentence with a poker face. P.S.: I had already paid the entire room fee online in full. All in all, in my view, this is absolutely not a 4-star hotel. The only positive point is the direct access to the sea.
