Hotel Lo Scoiattolo

In English, translates to The Squirrel. One of our favorite hotels on the TMB circuit. Room was comfortable. Service was especially good. Georgia (sp?) at the front desk was inviting and pleasant - giving us suggestions and making us dinner reservations. John Pierre (sp?) in the restaurant was exceptional. He has the smile and joy of Roberto Benigni. His work ethic was incredible to watch - we felt like his personal mission was to make us feel welcome. Couldn't be more pleased with the experience and highly recommend.

We had a lovely ski holiday, staying here. The staff were lovely, the breakfast is fantastic. The room (46) was good the only thing I would have liked is a kettle for making tea but this might not be common it Italy....

The room was small with old furniture and no air-condition (although, it was indeed cool at night and wouldn't have need it). When we opened the bathroom window, there was the safety staircase (exactly at window height), same for the balcony, so leaving windows open was not an option. The breakfast was generally good and had some fantastic items, e.g., honeycomb, but other parts were lacking, e.g., the coffee was not good (at least for italian standards). Generally, it felt more like a 3 star hotel, rather expensive for what it offered. There is no parking in the hotel, as it is right in the centre of the town, but there is free parking right next to it. From the evening onwards, we had no problem to find a slot there even in busy August days, but during the day, this was more problematic.
