LA TAVERNA LO SMERALDO: We had a lovely meal and a very enjoyable evening at the ground floor bistro (pizzeria) which has an extensive menu, pizzas being just a small part of the full offering. The service was kind, attentive, interested, available, professional and friendly. The quality of the food was good, nicely presented and well prepared (nothing fancy and dressed up, but simply good honest food). The outside dining area is in a very nicely laid out garden, which is impeccably maintained and clean. The views from the outside dining area are great, of the valley, the hills beyond and of the sunset. The price / quality balance is excellent and all things considered this restaurant is amongst some of the better options available in the area. (Don't expect gourmet / haut cuisine, but rather expect simple good, well prepared, honest cuisine in a relaxed setting). Our compliments to all the staff - the kitchen team and the waiters - for a job very well done! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and evening at your restaurant.
We dined several times at **Pizzeria — Hotel Lo Smeraldo** and enjoyed every visit! The cozy atmosphere, combined with attentive service, made it a pleasure each time. One of the highlights was the incredible value—just 5.50 € for a half-liter of delicious, local red wine. The pizzas were perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients, balancing traditional flavors with a wood-fired crispness. The beautiful setting in Cisternino added to the overall experience, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Saluti
Nice hotel, located in a quiet and charming area, surrounded by nature and sparkles with trulli. The hotel itself it a recent building although the furniture might look a bit outdated. The staff is very friendly and ready to satisfy your needs, especially kudos to the receptionist! Tips: 1. The weekends, especially Sundays, can be quite busy (they hold marriages and so on on Sundays); 2. The rooms might differ greatly, and you can go from a large room, double bed, balcony with sea view… to a small single room, single bed, no balcony and wall view… (although these rooms could be quite cool in summer) 3. The restaurant also owns a restaurant (that can be used by outsiders) called La Taverna Lo Smeraldo, which is pretty good and characteristic…
