Hotel Lomas del Volcan

Incredible location- it feels like you have the jungle to yourselves but town is just at the end of the long drive. Incredible to be staying in the foothills of a volcano. Breakfast was more than we could have asked for. Endless options of delicious food. Don’t skip the pineapple while in CR! Bungalows were darling. I loved sitting on the patio and watching hummingbirds while taking in the view of the volcano. Staff was superb. The pools were perfect! The largest pool is heated which is really nice! We ate at the restaurant several times. All good! We have 3 kids and it was a great stay. Will definitely stay there again!

Loved our stay here! Would visit again. The bungalows give you privacy and a great, quiet view of the jungle for your morning coffee or late night jacuzzi. Everything was clean with all the amenities you could possibly need in your room. Breakfast had a large selection with an omelet station and buffet of fruits, breads, pastries, meats and cheeses. We especially loved the pool bar with the heated pool, where you could order lunch with your cocktails. The staff and all the bartenders were awesome! Location is perfect, far enough out of La Fortuna to be quiet and relaxing but close enough to run into town for snacks, a tour, or dinner.

We stayed at Lomas del Volcan for the first part of our honeymoon in June. We had requested room 514 because I was told it has the best view, but were given 517. It was the end bungalow, so very nice, but not much of a view (blocked by greenery). On arrival the room was not ready yet, so we went to the pool. When they prepared the room they left a plate of really nice chocolate covered strawberries but didnt tell us, so when we got back to the room it was covered in bugs which was disappointing because it was so cite and nice of them! The room itself was very nice and rustic. the cleaning team came in in the mid afternoon daily and did a nice job (even did cute towel animals daily, different each day! and some with googly eyes which made us laugh). the hot tub area had drapes you could draw for privacy which was nice. Food at the hotel was quite good also! and the staff were all very nice and helpful when we had any questions. the HUGE upside to this hotel is that its quite literally at the base of the volcano, so the view from the pool is unreal.
