Hotel Luzernerhof

Very well located, spacious room, comfy beds and pretty good attention by their staff. We had breakfast included which was handy and good to have due to the high prices that everyone's knows Switzerland have. We could partially observe one of the snowed mountains from our room. The room have a coffee machine and internet access.

Rooms are well fitted out, very attractive. The stairway was outfitted with surprising charm which encouraged it's use. The staff was friendly, the woman who served coffee for breakfast was a tour de force, speaking 6 languages. Breakfast was ok, had a selection of warm and cold choices. I can't really comment on the housekeeping, however, as our rooms weren't made during our stay. The couple who were traveling with us did compliment them on their use of technology, as although there were communication difficulties, the housekeeper knew how to use Google translate well, and the German translation from Portuguese was quite good. Don't know about 4 stars, though...

The front desk staff varied in professionalism, and there was clearly no communication between shifts. The bathroom sink was also prone to clogging. We encountered two main issues: 1. We paid the city tax during early check-in, but when we returned in the afternoon to get our keys, another staff member tried to charge us again. Luckily, I had the credit card receipt—this could be very problematic for guests who pay in cash. 2. Our sink stopper got stuck after normal use. We reported it to the evening staff, who said housekeeping would fix it. The next morning, the day staff had no idea about it. No one came to fix the sink during our three-night stay, and we received no updates. It made using the bathroom very inconvenient. Some front desk staff are still very helpful and friendly.
