Only good thing about this hotel is the location, we had easy access to everything in New Orleans but besides that this place is not worth it. The building is older but it's obvious the owners have neglected the space, paint is chipping everywhere, floors are uneven (tripped a few times in our room) and cleanliness is lacking (found trash in our room and on the balcony). The shower will take forever to drain and will randomly switch from hot to cold. When we first got there we had trouble using our code to get in and contacted Sonder, to this day we have not had a reply. We did eventually get in but not sure why we even needed the door code when anyone could enter the hotel through the back bar door. It just felt unsafe having that door open all the time. During our week long stay at no point was the one small trashcan emptied, we had to use a shopping bag as a trash can. No room refresh was offered and the cleaning crew we did see seemed unapproachable. If your looking for a good location this is the spot, but for a way less expensive stay consider a few streets down at less expensive hotels. Walking a few more blocks is worth it, paying for an overpriced motel sold as a hotel is not.
I normally don’t write reviews but if you actually want to sleep during your stay DON’T STAY HERE. The room is fine enough, the TV didn’t work and the shower didn’t drain properly but we aren’t that picky. The issue we had was the noise. Street cleaning was right next to our window as was the trash, which the smell kept coming into our room. Trash pick up was also right next to our window so we were woken up multiple times from 6-8. The front door squeaks and slams shut ever time someone leaves, which means it did that basically from 12-3 AM. Some people couldn’t get into the building so they banged on the door for hours because the keypad didn’t work. Perhaps staying on another floor would have been a different experience, but if you’re staying on the first floor I really recommend somewhere else! There also isn’t anyone to talk to like said in previous reviews, so be prepared to leave your bags somewhere else if you get here early you won’t be able to check in early either most likely. Overall don’t think the experience equaled to how much money we paid to stay here. There are a few other hotels in the quarter we’ve stayed on previous trips that had a much better experience and was basically noise free even being close to bourbon street.
The hotel itself is super cute and the location is great for the French Quarter. However, we had a lot of issues during our stay. Our code to get into the building never worked. We contacted Sonder multiple times with no long term solution. It felt like it wasn’t a big deal to them. We were able to get in through the bar connected to the courtyard, but it is only open from 4 to 10. The room itself was fine but there was mold in our shower, the bathroom door didn’t shut all the way, and every time we opened the door paint chips chipped off and spread all over the floor.
