Hotel Malavoglia

A comfortable stay. Close to the sea and Etna. Used for businesses (they have conference facilities). We stayed for two nights. This is a modern and expertly run hotel. The staff were professional, welcoming and excellent. The evening meal was perfect. As tourists, we visited Etna, walked along the local beach area. Very grateful for driving advice to use the highway to Palermo. Mille Grazie.

WHAT a weekend! The location of the hotel is a stone’s throw from the water. We went during Marti Gras and got to experience the festivities. The room was clean and the maids were thorough and considerate. The air conditioning didn’t work in the room, but that may have been a seasonal issue (February trip to the Acis). The service was exceptional. The desk was manned 24 hours; we never encountered any issues, it was very convenient. The service was incredible. Simone, the bar tender, poured generously, smiled big, and remembered my name. He really pushed the experience above the proverbial bar. One last comment about the food: Hotels never get eggs right, and Italian hotels seldom serve them for breakfast. These guys’ eggs were good enough for second servings. Can’t say enough about the place. Wonderful trip.

Great hotel with a wonderful staff and great placement! The hotel is placed near great shopping possibilities and public transportation to the heart of Catania is just around the corner. The area also goes directly to several bars, restaurants and cafés. The beach is nearby and also provides a lot of entertainment, relaxation and boat tours. The rooms were unfortunately subject to much noise from the hallway and pool area. Furthermore, the bed was not hard and the pillows were very noise, which both made it harder to enjoy a good night's sleep. Great area to use as a base for your Catania, Siracusa, Etna and Taormina visits!
