Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale Beach Curio Collection by Hilton

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for. We had a marina balcony room, and while the balcony was small, it was more than enough for us to enjoy the beautiful view, morning coffee, etc. The pool was perfect, everything was clean and very nice, and guests ranged from families to groups of adults but all were respectful and fun. The pool gets sun until I think 5 or 6pm which was great, but there is also a lot of shade available. We could not get over how delicious the pool restaurant was, compliments to the chefs! Drinks are really expensive, but the drink tickets help - just keep an eye on whether gratuity is already included in your pool bar bill or not. I saw several groups bring their own canned beverages to the pool deck without a problem. The hotel's location was absolutely perfect - just far enough from the chaos to be quiet without needing to Uber everywhere. The included beach service was nice, we used the free bike rentals twice, and we walked to local restaurants every night with ease. The staff was also very accommodating with our early arrival and late departure flights. I picked this hotel for our group and got many comments about staying again if we ever return, so thank you hotel Maren and staff, hopefully we'll be back :)

The rooms are clean, up to date, luxurious feel. The front desk and bellboy were very professional and welcoming. The pool was cold (it stops getting sun very early in the day—it would help if it was heated) though and the pool deck very dirty with debris flying everywhere. No staff walking around the deck to keep it clean. One guy at the bar serving the whole deck. Would be nice if they had more pool staff to service people. The restaurant had great food. Love that there’s a Starbucks right outside with views to the ocean.

We traveled as an extended family group for a few days for my Mother-In-Laws birthday cruise. My MIL raved about this hotel and has stayed numerous times. Our experience was not as great. We loved the room and the bell hop but that was about the extent. My mother in law had issues with the rooms that she booked and we were separated on two different floors and not in the rooms she booked. We spent a large amount of our time at the pool. The pool area wasn’t clean and the bar/restaurant service was HORRIBLE. The two waitresses working the bar area were working extremely hard but the manager was extremely unprofessional. In the 4+ hours we spent at the pool the manager brought free shoots of alcohol and drinks to a young female we were seated next to. He brought a total of 12 cups to her and bragged about how they were free for “beautiful women like her”. He sat on the cabana with her and watched his bartenders work. The conversation he was having rather loudly with this woman was deeply inappropriate and we had to move our children away from. Extremely disrespectful and enough to turn us away from using this hotel ever again.
