Hotel Mas Mariassa

After a few days in Barcelona me and my girlfriend travelled down to this beautiful little farm house on recommendation from my cousin. Griselda who greets you is a delight and happy to help with any queries or helping find a drink or nibble during the day. It is a peaceful place where reading and relaxing are the focus. If you are keen on your food then this is perfect every night there is 5 course meal (€30) which really shows the culinary skills of Francesc. Highly recommended.

Spent a family weekend with young children visiting the area and stayed in their "Family Room". Observations: -Cozy, intimate, quiet and service is professional and correct. Available if needed yet not intrusive. -Breakfasts were served, as opposed to a buffet and offered local, fresh cold and cooked products. I left full and satisfied with varied sustenance. -Dinners are a la carte and recommended. Excellent quality local, fresh plates with sufficient servings at a reasonable price. The Angus burger & Fricando were fantastic and memorable. -Room was adequate for 4 and contemporary. Slept well with tranquility. -The setting and terrace area is a shepherds delight. -Electric car owners have a charging point on site -Nearby medieval village Pratdip is a must see -Are you a road cyclist? then bring your bike because the road from the hotel to the beach is popular on Sunday mornings Developmental Feedback: -The modern and beautiful bathroom is wonderful, if it weren't for the fact shower drainage flows over half of the bathroom floor. The shower drain is designed for aesthetics, not functionality. -Room Wifi is fiddly and relies on a hotspot reception gives you -Its noticeable there is more focus on detail & attention for the adults, rather than families. The hotel was recently "Adults only". This was felt with the room and where they ushered us to eat, away from couples. -Eating options for young children is difficult - most plates are geared for dining adults. -Room TV was small and appeared to be a symbolic gesture Overall it was a lovely place to visit with serene scenery however the experience we had left us thinking it was nothing special compared to similar establishments in Catalunya.

Friendly staff but unfortunately overall a negative experience. There was a water outage for almost 3 hours - my wife had just started to shower and had applied shower gel and shampoo. We had to use bottled water which we bought from the supermarket to rinse it off. The food at the restaurant was a catastrophe - food was extremely salty (I could not even finish my octopus dish). The steak from the day before was sinewy and chewy. We are happy that we only stayed two nights, as there are no other restaurants around. Also, in a four star hotel I would expect things like a safe or a tissue box in my room. We have been in so many nice remote boutique hotels ins Spain - this one I cannot recommend unfortunately.
